DACs at Hi-Fi Corner
A DAC (or Digital to Anlog Converter) is used to change the digital information sent from electronic devices into the analog signal used in amplifiers and speakers.
CD players, for example, normally have a DAC built in, so you can just plug it straight into your amp. If your CD player has a digital output, however, you can send the signal through a seperate, higher quality DAC, which will perform the conversion much more accurately.
The same principle can be applied to all digital sources, and one of the most useful applications is with mp3 players and other digital storage devices. A typical mp3 player has a fairly simple DAC designed for use with headphones, but if you want to use your mp3 player as a source for your Hi-Fi, a descent DAC will help improve the sound quality dramatically.
Hi Fi corner supplies a wide range of DACs, for portable use as well as Hi-Fi use. For more information, feel free to speak to one of our friendly members of staff by calling 0131 556 7901.
